GENE EXPRESSION CENTER

The UW-Madison Biotechnology Center is currently open and following the university’s COVID-19 Response regarding campus operations.

The Gene Expression Center was established to provide cost-effective, cutting edge transcriptomic (bulk and single cell (10X Genomics)) and large scale genotyping/methylation services that are available to the University of Wisconsin campus as well as colleagues at public and private institutions.  We provide comprehensive, fee-for-service support for IlluminaPacBio and Oxford Nanopore from project design and sample preparation through sequencing and downstream analysis in collaboration with the UWBC DNA Sequencing Center and UWBC Bioinformatics Resource Core.  In addition, we provide RNA extraction and Illumina genotyping/methylation beadarray services.  Independent access is available to the following instrumentation for users previously trained by Center staff:  NanoDrop Spectrophotometer, Agilent Bioanalyzer and Qubit Fluorometer.  We are committed to providing the highest quality services possible while maintaining rapid turnaround at low cost.

The UW Gene Expression Center is located at 425 Henry Mall, Room 2330/2340, in the UW Biotechnology Center. You can contact us by e-mail at gecinfo@biotech.wisc.edu or by phone at 608-265-3029.

GEC HOLIDAY HOURS 2021
We will be unable to accept submissions from Friday, 12/24 through Friday, 12/31 due to limited staffing.
The last date in December available for 10X Genomics single cell RNA-seq submissions is Wednesday, 12/22.
Staff will not be present to enable the use of the shared instrumentation in room 2302 during this period.

If you publish data generated via GEC services, please contact us at gecinfo@biotech.wisc.edu so we can list the publication on our website!
